Vivid hues of pink and purple French enamel make this sterling silver pendant really pop! Enamel is powdered glass, that is fired onto precious metal under high temperatures in a kiln. This pendant has the enamel applied in a technique known as "basse taille", in which the enamel is applied onto a carved silver base, allowing the carved pattern to show through.
The pendant is shaped as a navette, and an oval rhodolite garnet with a lovely reddish-purple color has been set at the center.
The pendant has a hidden bail, and slides on a sterling silver cable chain, with a lobster claw clasp. The chain has a mechanism that allows it to be adjusted to any length up to 18 inches long. Both the pendant and chain have a rhodium finish, so they will never tarnish. The pendant measures 1 1/8" inches long.
