Mysterious Alexandrite Ring

Plante Jewelers

What makes a natural alexandrite so mysterious? The gemstone's ability to change color, depending on the type of light it's saturated with.

This natural alexandrite was mined in Sri Lanka. Under natural light, the gemstone's color is a medium bluish-green hue, as seen in the photo. Under incandescent light, the gemstone's color changes to a medium reddish-purple hue.

The natural alexandrite gemstone has been cut as a cushion shape, and weighs 1.06ct. The 58 brilliant cut diamonds accenting the ring= .30ct total weight, and have G/VS1 color/clarity grades. The ring is crafted from 14K white gold, and is a size 6.5.

The rare color change of this alexandrite is best viewed in person, and we invite you to visit us and experience the phenomenon. This photo only shows the gemstone's color under natural lighting.
