Designed in house by Marcel, and completely handmade in our shop by our jeweler, Steve, this spectacular ring is truly one-of-a-kind.
The main event of the ring is the unheated yellow sapphire. The sapphire was discovered in Sri Lanka, and is unheated and untreated, meaning the sapphire has the same color and clarity that was intended by Mother Nature. The sapphire is cut as a cushion shape, and weighs 2.20 carats. The sapphire is accompanied by an AGTA gemstone report.
Nestled on each side of the sapphire is an unusual French-cut diamond, with a trapezoid shape. The two diamonds have a fabulous, bright white color with F/VS1 color/clarity grades. The diamonds have a total weight of .30 carats.
The mounting of the ring is forged by hand, from solid bars of platinum. The sapphire is set into four pointed prongs, and the accenting diamonds are set into half-bezels. The gems sit above three curved platinum mirrors, which bounce light back to your eye. The shank of the ring graduates from narrow at the top, to wide at the base, to balance the top. The ring is a size 7.
A note on unheated sapphires:
95% of all mined sapphires are heated to bring forth their color, something that has been done for hundreds of years. An unheated sapphire is very rare because its natural color is so beautiful that it does not need to be enhanced.
The ring is available for purchase in-store only, and cannot be purchased online. Please contact us for more details!
