From the studio of Susan Mahlstedt comes this dramatic pendant. Susan's workshop is in Kansas City, where she creates modern, wearable jewels with remarkable perfection and exquisite craftsmanship.
The pendant is crafted in sterling silver, and has been shaped to resemble a sand dollar, with organic texturing that brings a cool shimmering effect to the piece. The white color is worked out of the silver, in a technique called "depletion gilding". At the center of the sand dollar is an open window of matte finish 18 karat yellow gold, and an 18 karat gold bail finishes the pendant.
The pendant measures 1.25 inches in diameter, and is accompanied by an 18" black rubber cord, with a sterling silver lobster claw clasp.
