Exquisite "watermelon" tourmaline gemstones take center stage in this pair of show-stopping earrings. Watermelon tourmaline is a variety of the gemstone that features a core of pink, with a "rind" of green. These juicy tourmalines have been fashioned as hexagonal slices, and have an ethereal, translucent quality that shows off the natural qualities of the gemstones.
The tourmalines are mounted in a pair of hand-wrought earrings, which were made in Istanbul by artisans reviving old-world jewelry making techniques. Rich, warm 22 karat yellow gold has been chosen to highlight the pretty pink hue of the tourmalines. Each earring has been studded with 6 cognac-hued round diamonds, that bring the perfect amount of sparkle. The tops of the earrings are hammered, rotund hexagons, that mimic the shape of the drops below.
The two tourmalines have a total weight of 12.48ct. The 12 diamonds have a total weight of .11ct.
The earring have 18 karat yellow gold posts with large, substantial 18 karat yellow gold friction backs. The earrings measure just under 1 1/4 inches in length.
These earrings are one-of-a-kind, and only one pair is available. If you can't resist, don't wait!
