Stunning Sri-Lankan Yellow Sapphire Ring in Platinum

Plante Jewelers

A rare, untreated yellow sapphire is captured in a classic platinum mounting.  A round, brilliant cut diamond holds court on each side. The cushion-cut sapphire = 1.96ct and has a known origin of Sri Lanka. Most sapphire has been treated with heat to enhance the color, and sapphires that are beautiful enough on their own, are very rare. This is one of those sapphires. The gorgeous yellow color is accompanied by a special sparkle. The two diamonds = .52ct t.w., with H/VS1 color/clarity grades. Here is a fine reward for a personal milestone, or a unique engagement ring.

A note on unheated sapphires:

95% of all mined sapphires are heated to bring forth their color, something that has been done for hundreds of years.  An unheated sapphire is very rare because its natural color is so beautiful that it does not need to be enhanced.
