From Massachusetts artist Constance Gildea comes this pair of button-style earrings. Constance designs and fabricates jewels by hand, in her Western Massachusetts studio. Inspired by the romance of nature, her pieces feature organic forms, colorful metals and sparkly gems.
The earrings have been style as a pair of domed "buttons" in fine silver (.999%), with 14 karat white gold posts and sterling silver friction backs. Constance oxidized the silver first, and then hand engraved a pattern of forest grasses, which allowed the bright silver to shine through. Little diamond "fireflies" dance amongst the grasses.
The four diamonds are earth-mined, and have a total weigh of .06 carats.
The earrings measure 3/4 of an inch in diameter.
