A jewel from the past! Dating from the early 1900s, this original art nouveau brooch boasts a fabulous opal at its center. The opal is genuine and has been faceted as an oval cabochon, with violet, green and yellow play-of-color, and an exceptional flash of vivid neon red. The opal is set within a bezel, accented with a length of twisted gold wire, and studded with three small round white pearls. The gems are framed by a triangular, flowing ribbon with textured details.
The brooch is 14 karat yellow gold with an acid finish, which gives the gold a soft texture and bright yellow gold.
The brooch measures just under one inch long. It features a traditional pin stem and simple catch.
