From Nancy's personal collection: a pair of super cool earrings, handmade by artist Jennifer Jordan Park. These are the "Roman Lady" earrings and were inspired by the fashionable ladies of ancient Rome. Jennifer created a pair of round, red enamel discs and set them within frames of blackened sterling silver, with meticulous 22 karat gold bead granulation. To create the granulation effect, Jennifer created each teensy-tiny gold bead by hand and individually placed them, heating the silver below to the perfect temperature to just adhere the beads, and not melt the silver. Three handmade silver chains (replicas of ancient Roman styles) dangle from each earring, with a faceted genuine black spinel briolettes glittering on the end of each strand.
The earrings have French wires with hook closures and measure 1 3/4 inches long, not including the French wire.
